Went to help my mum at her stall again yesterday morning. Was supposed to reach the market at 7am but I overslept till about 8am!! My uncle who was helping her too, had to give me a call to wake me up... Paisay!
However, it's not entirely my fault. My dad's useless phone lor. Not only calls couldn't be made, the alarm clock system ain't working as well. But how was I to know. I did wake up at about 6am though cuz Baby wanna go pee (as usual) and I went back to rest for a while more since it was still early. I remembered vaguely that the last time I checked my phone, it was 630am. 5 mins more before the alarm rings, I closed my eyes and .... drifted into slumberland till about 8am! (Chants, "Stupid phone... Stupid phone.")
Perhaps it's partly due to the fact that I only slept at 2plus the night before therefore was weary. Accompanied Pauline to her empty office cuz she had unfinished work and there's no one in the building thus she's afraid. I was quite free so I agreed to meet up. After she was done at about 8pm, we took a train to Orchard and had a quick dinner at TAKA MOS Burger and did some shopping. It was already very late le and all the shops were practically closed. Orchard late night shopping till 11pm on Sat was a lil' deceiving. WISMA's shops were mostly closed by 1030pm. SG really should extend their retail operating hours till after midnight on weekends!!! In the end, we only managed to purchase a pair of shoes each. I got myself a pair of white heels. It's been quite some time since I wore heels liao, must practise!!
Then we went to have a drink at a lil' cafe opposite Cineleisure till 130am before sharing a cab home. Pauline paid for my drinks and the blueberry cheesecake that we shared and even for the cab fare as I did not have change with me. Also because she just got her bonus and she knew that financially now, I wasn't that well off cuz I'm unemployed.
Back to the topic on helping my mum. My mum's selling frozen food in the market just across my home and since CNY is around the corner, she really needs extra help at her stall. But hor, when she's serving a female customer who came with her young daughter and wanted to buy chicken from us, Mom blurted out in Mandarin....
"You wan FRESH or NOT FRESH one??"
The customer who failed to notice Mom's mistake, replied, "I want FRESH one..."
WAH LAO!!!
I chided my mum nicely at the moment that she should ask whether the customers want fresh or frozen meat. SIMI not fresh one.. Who in the right mind will wanna buy NOT FRESH meat?! My mom just laughed at her own error. Kaozz, hope she don't become a laughing stock again next time.
Oh ya, my family had our early reunion dinner last night. We had steamboat as usual and ate lots of abalone and scallops, yummy!! My sis and her husband gotta eat with the male's family on New Year Eve therefore we decided to eat earlier lor.
Called up Samsung service helpline this noon as I still had no news from them yet. The staff said that he would call the PS outlet which I went to and they would contact me again. Received their call in the evening to inform me that my phone was ready for collection tml. HAPPY!!! Hope it won't give me any problem again. I would be going for an interview at a recruitment agency at Orchard first before proceeding to collect my U700. The lady whom I accused of being irresponsible contacted me this noon finally. She apologised of forgetting to email me that day and asked me to go for interview again tml.
Today is Pauline's birthday. Only sent her a sms wishing her and I have not gotten any gift for her yet. Initially wanna get her a GUESS bag but due to budget constraint, I had to rack my brain to think of getting her something else not so expensive instead. That day, she blurted out that she wanna get a perfume and got my opinion on which fragrance is nicer. And so, I will try to get my dearest gf a nice bottle of perfume tml when I'm out. Will then try to meet her again soon to pass it to her and give her a surprise, hehe.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY BESTEST PAL!!!!Though she would never get to read my blog but still, I hope that our friendship would last for a lifetime. It's been almost 20 years since we've known each other and am still counting to more years down the road. I will treasure our friendship... =D
