Thought I can come online longer tonight but they came back alot earlier than expected and I have not even started blogging yet! Only managed to upload some pics from camera... So I try to make this a quickie.
Finally it's weekend and can take a breather from the non-stop bombarding of trainings this past week. We've been attending trainings for various brands that will be sold on the shopfloor upon opening. Think I can hardly remember most of the products and need to read up the notes when I have the time. However the most anticipating about attending trainings is that we girls get to have freebies!!! Just like when I was back at Changi Airport, lotsa freebies as well. Hehe.
On Monday, training was on the brand CHRISTIAN DIOR and it was quite a comprehensive and fun one. I simply love DIOR's products esp their cosmetic and fragrances. The designs are always chic yet classy.
Sisley was supposed to be next but something cropped up and Sonia, our retail manager gotta stand in last min to conduct our inhouse brand, Sephora. Everything was gone through very quickly and too briefly as a matter of fact. I dun think I manage to absorb any info at all. Sonia's a French and at times, we simply dun understand her words cuz her accent is too strong and vice versa. We gotta use extremely simple words to put across our message most of the time. Unfortunately, there were no freebie at all for our own brand. DUhzzz.
Tuesday we had Estee Lauder and Clinique. If you remember, I was from LaMer before and it is under the Estee Lauder Group. Clinique is from Estee as well thus we had to travel to Estee's office to attend both trainings. I brought along my LaMer uniform that day and called Lorraine to inform her of me returning my uniform. She was at the office and was so stunned when she realised I was there for training, and that I had joined Sephora, hehe. She was further surprised when she knew that Hazel was there as well cuz she too wanted to return her Bobbi Brown brushes.
It was Hazel's birthday that day as well and Winnie, our assistant store manager bought a cake for her. We sort of celebrated and sang a birthday song for pretty Hazel in the training room. Hazel also returned from her Thailand trip not long ago and bought me a nice pink cosmetic bag.
Thank you so much my darling, sorry for not getting you any birthday gift cuz I'm too broke at this time. Will make it up to you next year hor....
Third day was Lancome and Biotherm training. Biotherm's quite stingy in their gifts......
Fourth day was Clarins and the MTX brand I mentioned earlier. Everyone enjoyed the training cuz Clarins products are really good though I have not used them myself yet. But again, they could have been more generous with the doorgift.
MTX... the one brand that everyone mistook for a China brand due to the product presentation and not to forget the Cheena trainer with the "Superb Engrish". Once, Farah (non-Chinese) asked the trainer to repeat what she said cuz it was spoken in Mandarin. The lady repeated her words slowly, in Mandarin again and I couldn't take it (Yeah, I have absolutely no patience for China people) and voiced out that Farah ain't a Chinese. For gawd's sake, it's so obvious that Farah's a non-Chinese.
Then when the session ended, the trainer couldn't take it le and started conversing with us in Mandarin. When another group of colleagues walked into the room (We were divided into 2 groups), the trainer quickly changed back her language to broken English again. Pui! Typical China people. It's the umpteenth time I saw China people trying too hard to flaunt in a language they totally sucks in. It's the same at the airport back then. You talk to them in Mandarin initially, they replied back in English. Then you
"ying xiu" them with English and when they couldn't find the right words to express themselves, you try to talk to them in Mandarin again. They will then look at you with mouth agaped and exclaimed in disbelief that
YOU CAN ACTUALLY SPEAK MANDARIN!!! NABEH LAH! You have been speaking Mandarin right from the start.......
And the pathetic gift and unique product info in a cube form but unfortunately, was written in Chinese.
Then lastly, today's trainings were on OleHenriksen, Becca and Murad. OleHenriksen might be a foreign brand that mostly have not heard of but it's very popular with big celebrities and they're damn good!! We've tried and tested the products during the training and were excited about them. The Angmoh male trainer was super zany and made the training lively and full of laughter. We were on cloud nine when the brand generously gave us full sets of their products that cost over a hundred dollars!!! Huge smiles were plastered on everyone's faces. You guyz simply gotta try the products too cuz they're really really good.... Come to me when the shop opens and I'll intro you the best that we carry cuz lotsa brands are exclusive to us only or otherwise found in limited places.
Becca and Murad were not too bad. Becca only deals with cosmetics and Murad's a doctor brand so it should be not bad as well.
Actually there's a fourth training after Murad but I left earlier and headed down to Changi Aiport to collect my pay cheque. A meagre sum only, have to pay off part of my debt with it. Sigh.
